2008-2009 Kalamazoo Ice Kraze Season Timeline
March 13: Official Tryouts for all skaters (adult, youth, teen, - advanced & beginner)
March 13 – March 27: Coaches form teams based on number/ ages of skaters. Also scheduling make-up tryouts for anyone who missed the March 13th date.
March 31: Send out notification to skaters about which team they have qualified for. Include estimated budget and schedule for the new season, based on number of skaters per team. (Skaters will have until April 24 to accept their position on the team.
April 17: Sign up meeting – provide team info, parent/ skater questions. Meet with coach, discuss music, etc.
April 24: Sign up deadline. Let the coach know by this date if skater will accept position on team.
May: Thursdays, alternating youth & adult team practice to learn program.
May or June: Season Kick-Off party - TBD
June, July, August: practice sessions to learn program (will be either Wed or Thur. evenings, 2-3 times per month). This is crucial practice time because ice is so much cheaper in the summer – it will save a LOT of time & money once we get into the competitive season in the fall.
Sept: Official practices start, will probably either be Thursday or Sunday evenings.
November: Start off the competition season with the Kick-Off Classic.
We will do 2-4 competitions between November & February 2009.
